Shitlong - oolong tea

When trying out new things, success isn’t always guaranteed. But doing experiments is fun, even if there is a chance that you fail miserably. We tried out a new, semi-automatic plucking method - just to see if we could make the processes on the field more efficient and keep the quality of the leaf at the same time.

Well, it did go faster for sure, but as you can see by looking at this tea, the leaf did not come out as we hoped. To be honest, the quality was nowhere near acceptable and we were ready to add it to our shelf of “tests gone wrong”, but just out of curiosity we still gave it a taste. It turned out to be quite a good oolong! So, we decided to still share the ugliest tea of the season with you as well. And let this be a reminder that looks can be deceiving ;) 

It's a balanced oolong with floral notes, but at the same time has the maturity and body of black tea in it. Let us know how you like it!
