The GabaYaga is a bit controversial. It's the first tea with a fermentation step in the process, and while this does increase the GABA content of the tea, then producing a GABA was not our primary goal ( Although as fancy as it may sound). Our real aim was to discover a new taste profile, and this is where the controversy comes in - you will either love this tea or you will... well, hate it :)
The taste profile is light and fruity, with some hints of peaches, and roasty notes.
Renegade promise
All Renegade Tea Estate teas are grown under the Georgian sun, chemical-free and without any concentrated fertilizers. All of the harvests are done by hand- people from nearby villages plucking only the finest leaves. All of the teas we sell are produced in our own small factory by either Tomas or Hannes, experimenting with different recipes, trying our best to bring out the greatest tastes of Georgian tea.
